This week, Pete finished the series on the Beatitudes.
In Matthew 5:10-12, Jesus says, “10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
When you live your life like Jesus, you will be persecuted. When you are poor in spirit, when you mourn, when you are meek, merciful, or are a peacemaker.
However, rejoice and be glad, because God is with you. Do the right things even though you know that you may be persecuted and be glad in the decisions.
